Photos with Santa

One important part of Christmas time is getting your annual photo with Santa!  There are plenty of opportunities in Perth to get photos taken at shopping centres, markets, events and you can even get you pets in on the action at some pet stores.

Meeting Santa for most kids is exciting but if your child has a sensory process disorder like autism, it can be a challenging experience.  Some shopping centres are now offering ‘Sensory Santa’.  They create a calm and sensory-friendly photo session with dim lights and no music or loud noises.

We have a detailed post about where to get Santa photos in Perth here.

Christmas lights bus tours

In Perth we like to do things a little bit different!  Instead of a bus tour to see the Christmas lights, you can take a rickshaw chariot instead.

Jump onboard your personal rickshaw chariot and see your kids’ faces light up as they get the wind their face while they listen to fun Christmas carols, and see all the best Christmas Light installations without wearing their little legs out. You will be having as much fun as the kids as you interact with the light installations, stopping the see the projections and stopping wherever you want to take photos.

All the riders are well-trained, assessed on their character, and place the safety and happiness of you and your family as the utmost importance. Peddles will ride mostly on the footpath and malls for extra safety precautions.

You can read more about the bike Christmas lights tour here.

Christmas Eve box ideas

Christmas Even boxes are a growing tradition for Christmas

We love the fairly new tradition of giving kids a Christmas Eve Box on the 24th of December to get them right into the spirit of Xmas. Some families I know use this additional gift as a way to get the kids to go to bed without a fuss on Christmas Eve. Whatever your reason for creating a Christmas Eve box, we’ve put together a few ideas for your kids (and one for the mummas too!) You can find all the details including pricing and where to buy their contents here.

Get ideas for your Christmas Eve boxes in our detailed guide here.
