You are sure to find a family friendly event that suits you.  You might like to pack a picnic blanket and picnic food, or you might like to buy your food and drinks when you get there.

TBC for 2022: The iconic Whitehorse Carols in Melbourne is a fantastic fun-filled event for the whole family to enjoy. Santa Claus is coming to town and so are some of your favourite performers, helping everyone to celebrate Christmas at the Nunawading Civic Precinct! Santa and his elves will visit from 4.30pm for photos before leaving the Xmas carols in Melbourne for his around- the- world sleigh ride.

TBC for 2022: The magical annual Melbourne carols by candlelight event will be happening at Coburg Lake Reserve. The event will feature pre-carols entertainment from 6 pm, including roaming Christmas performers, children’s activities and the Salvation Army Moreland City Band Ensemble. Take your own picnic dinner or get something to eat from their barbecue and don your favourite Christmas outfit!

Carols at Como Park

TBC for 2022: Escape the festive madness and enjoy an evening of Christmas carols Melbourne with family and friends. The City of Stonnington is presenting a night of Carols at Como Park, a spirited occasion that brings loved ones together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. So pack your picnic, don the Christmas dresses, grab a rug, warm up your vocal cords and get ready to get into the Christmas spirit with some of Australia’s most loved performers.

Christmas at Central Park

TBC for 2022: The City of Stonnington will host a festive celebration at Malvern East’s Central Park. Melbourne carols will ring out from the grassy park. This evening isn’t just about carolling though – there will also be loads of free craft activities. The event is also super family-friendly – there will be a play zone from the Stonnington Toy Library, performances tailored to little ones and of course a visit from Santa. To cap off the carols by candlelight Melbourne, there will be a big laser light show.

Carols in the Park

TBC for 2022: Sadly, Bayside City Council’s Christmas Carols in the Park will not go ahead due to COVID-19 with the funds to create a series of smaller Christmas events instead. The carols event at Dendy Park usually attracts about 20,000 visitors making it challenging to hold a major, open access event in a COVID safe manner. The new events program will include carolling and festive sound and light installations in Bayside’s open spaces and shopping precincts. The events program will kick off in November and run through to Christmas.

It will include the Taste of Bayside festivals’ night-time, foodie-themed, light projections on some of our much-loved hospitality venues, originally planned for the middle of this year.

Carols by Kingston

TBC for 2022: Families are invited to Bicentennial Park in Chelsea to enjoy the Carols by Kingston. This year’s festive program includes live performances from Tim Campbell, Rhonda Burchmore and guests. There will also be a Christmas Gift Market, Kids Zone and a spectacular fireworks display to finish the night off.

Banyule’s Carols by Candlelight

TBC for 2022: Get into the spirit of Christmas and head to the annual Melbourne Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 18th December. Held each December at a local park, this popular family friendly event includes activities and entertainment. Sing the night away with your songbook and LED candle.

Carols in Canterbury Gardens

TBC for 2022: Celebrate Christmas with your friends and family at the annual Christmas carols eastern suburbs Melbourne in Canterbury Gardens, this year’s event will feature a fantastic local band, face painting and an animal farm. There will also be a selection of food, sausage sizzle, strawberries and cream, pancakes and hot and cold drinks. All profits going to charity.

Manningham Carols by Candlelight

TBC for 2022: Manningham’s largest free Christmas event, with kids’ activities, food, and a range of Carols to sing along to, there’s fun for the whole family and will be held on Friday 10th December. Manningham Carols by Candlelight begins at 6.00pm with a Kids Zone featuring free activities including face painting, jumping castles, entertainment, and photos with Santa. The main concert starts at 8.00pm and will include a mix of traditional and contemporary Carols.

Monash Carols by Candlelight

TBC for 2022: The free annual Monash Carols by Candlelight Melbourne is just around the corner. Pack a picnic rug, don some Christmas earrings and head down to Jells Park to celebrate the festive season! The man of the month himself will be there with Santa photos. So, get there early and grab yourself a selfie with the man in the red suit. The evening ends with an impressive fireworks finale that will burst from the night sky.
