It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Adelaide is embracing the Christmas festivities with a long list of Christmas Adelaide carols events throughout December. Whether you are a local Adelaide family, new in town or just visiting you are bound to find some Christmas carols in Adelaide 2021 that will interest your children or teenagers (even those that tell you they are too old for Christmas now!).

The Christmas carol events we have found are all family friendly and don’t finish too late at night so you can still get the little ones to bed on time. You can either choose to pack a picnic or purchase food from food vans or potentially grab a snag and support a local community group. Don’t forget to take a Christmas candle along to the night-time events.

Here is our list of the biggest and brightest Christmas carols in Adelaide. We have also found plenty of other Adelaide Christmas events around town as well.

Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight

It’s one of the most exciting times of the year, as families get out their rugs and picnic gear to join their family and friends at what has become one of our city’s great traditions at the Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight, supported by Novita Children’s Services.

Be sure to arrive early to enjoy the pre-show entertainment, giveaways and activities or at twilight when the star studded main event gets underway. Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight is a FREE community event, supported by Novita Children’s Services. Your donation for the Novita Children’s Services Christmas Appeal upon main gate entry would be greatly appreciated.

Christmas on the Hill

Christmas on the Hill is a family friendly, community event with free entertainment, amusement rides, carols, and fireworks. Everyone is welcome to head along and enjoy the festivities! A night to remember and to kick off your Christmas activities, mark this date in your calendar and spread the word amongst friends and family.

Tyndale Christmas Carols

The Tyndale Community Carols is an event for the whole family that will include concert band, choirs, jumping castles, face painting, food vendors and fireworks. The pre-show entertainment begins at 5pm with the main programme starting at 7pm.

Playford Community Christmas Carols

Where to See Christmas Carols in Adelaide

The biggest outdoor concert of the year welcomes a huge line up of national and local performers in December. Not long after the sound of sleigh bells is amongst the crowds, the man in red will grant the audience their Christmas wishes and end the evening with a dazzling firework spectacular.

Campbelltown Christmas Parade & Carols

Campbelltown’s Christmas Parade brings together community members, groups and organisations from across the Campbelltown City Council area to celebrate Christmas and the festive season. Go along for the Parade, which will start at Whites Lane, Newton, and proceed along Stradbroke Road to Thorndon Park. The Parade will be followed by the annual ‘Carols in the Park’ which commences at 6:15pm and features entertainment, carols, food and of course, Santa.

Gawler Christmas Carols

If you are looking for a relaxed evening listening to Christmas carols, Immanuel School and Gawler Lutheran Church are hosting a Carols evening. Bring your own chairs / picnic blankets plus your choice of drinks and nibbles and don’t forget the Christmas earrings!   Wear your Santa Hat and tinsel too!

Carols Alive

Take the whole family for dinner with international food, drinks, & ice creams on sale. Enjoy the festive atmosphere with face painting, kids rides, bouncing castle, interactive stalls & more! Then settle in from 7:30pm for an evening of fantastic music & entertainment from local artists and more, and the fantastic Fireworks Display. Take a rug or a chair to kick off the Christmas celebrations with your community! Invite your friends! Gold coin donations will be gratefully accepted at the gates.

Carols on Campus

In the tradition of ‘Carols from King’s’ at Cambridge University, Carols on Campus features a full academic procession, performers and soloists from the Elder Conservatorium of Music and the magnificent Bonython Hall organ. People who attend Carols on Campus are encouraged to bring a present to place under the University’s Christmas Gifting Tree in Bonython Hall. The presents are distributed by The Smith Family to children in need.

Carols in the Square

Join in at the annual ‘Carols in the Square’ – a free family-friendly event run in partnership with Westcare Church and proudly supported by the City of Adelaide, Beyond Bank, Australia Post and StreetFleet. Featuring Tutti Choir, Holdfast Bay Concert Band and other guest artists, it’s a great way to bring the community together and celebrate the message of Christmas through song, music and drama.

City Park Carols

Celebrate the festive season with family and friends at Civic Park Carols! Family Fun Zone opens at 4pm. Pre-show entertainment will be provided with the Carols main show commencing at 7:30pm. There will be plenty of food trucks, so make sure you go ready to indulge!

Paradise Carols and Fireworks

Influencers Church is proud to present the much-anticipated annual Paradise Carols. They’re looking forward to another world-class carols event after a packed out building each year! Join in from 7pm for a night full of fun, food and the best singalong carols Adelaide! There will be huge fireworks display with easily accessible viewing areas.

Hallett Cove Community Carols

Join in for a night of peace and good cheer with music from local schools and musicians. These Adelaide Christmas carols 2021 is a night for all the family including games, BBQ and Carols! So don your best Christmas dress and get going!

Minda Christmas Carols & Markets

Minda Christmas Carols and Markets has plenty of entertainment throughout the day, with Adelaide’s best food trucks and amusement rides, along with a petting zoo, climbing wall, bumper cars, bouncy castle, face painting and of course, Santa. The popular Christmas market has stall holders selling a range of quality items such as Christmas gifts, homewares, candles, gardening and outdoor accessories, children’s and adults clothing, toys and jewellery.

Christmas Carols in Ramsay Place

Presented by Noarlunga Uniting Church, supported by Country Arts SA and Onkaparinga City Council. Celebrate Christmas with Community Carols in Ramsay Place, Colonades. There’ll be carol singing, children’s activities, live music, and community groups to interact with, as well as a visit by Santa.  There will be various children’s activities provided by community agencies and free face painting.

Goolwa Christmas Festival with Fireworks

Annual community Christmas festival includes pageant, children’s entertainment, carols, visit from Santa and fireworks. The street Pageant will involve about 90 individual floats and bands culminating with Santa Clause. The Christmas Festival is held at the Goolwa Oval and provides the community with food and refreshments, entertainment and spectacular fireworks display as the finale to the festival. The fireworks light up the sky at around 9.15pm. Local school children provide a choir to sing Christmas Carols for the enjoyment of the community. This is an alcohol free event. This is hosted jointly by the Lions Club or Goolwa and the Goolwa Rotary Club.
