It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Adelaide is embracing the Christmas festivities with a long list of Christmas Adelaide carols events throughout December. Whether you are a local Adelaide family, new in town or just visiting you are bound to find some Christmas carols in Adelaide 2023 that will interest your children or teenagers (even those that tell you they are too old for Christmas now!).
The Christmas carol events we have found are all family friendly and don’t finish too late at night so you can still get the little ones to bed on time. You can either choose to pack a picnic or purchase food from food vans or potentially grab a snag and support a local community group. Don’t forget to take a Christmas candle along to the night-time events.
Here is our list of the biggest and brightest Christmas carols in Adelaide. We have also found plenty of other Adelaide Christmas events around town as well.
SeaLink Carols by Candlelight
SeaLink Carols by Candlelight is returning to Elder Park on Saturday 9th December thanks to the generous support of SeaLink and the Government of South Australia. They can’t wait to welcome you back to Elder Park to celebrate Christmas at Adelaide’s Carols since 1944.

Salisbury Community Christmas Carols & Fireworks
Salisbury Community Christmas Carols are supported by Special Guest Santa and outstanding local South Australian talent. Head along and enjoy this incredible FREE community event supported by local businesses, schools, the City of Salisbury Council and organised by the local Lions Club of Salisbury. This event returns to attract and stun a Salisbury wide crowd. This event will feature free children’s entertainment, delicious food available and much more!
It’s a night for the whole family!

A Magical Christmas with Pina & Co
Get into the Christmas Spirit. Enjoy a wonderful performance of your favorite Christmas Carols. You will be singing along before you know it! This is a free event, with low-cost refreshments available.

Gawler Community Christmas Carols
Head along to Pioneer Park and enjoy the festivities. 5pm start, Santa arrives at 6pm, with entertainment for the whole family. Food available. Alcohol and smoke free event. Bring your own chairs / picnic blankets and don’t forget the Christmas earrings! Wear your Santa Hat and tinsel too. Stage Entertainment starting at 5pm, Father Christmas arrives 6.30pm – Photos with Santa.

Balhannah/Oakbank Community Carols
What a great way to gather together and present a program that celebrates the spirit of Christmas. Family Fun begins at 5pm with a FREE rock climbing wall and FREE face painting with food and drinks available for purchase to help families get into the spirit. At 6.30pm they invite you to work your vocal cords by joining in with all your favourite Christmas carols and tunes accompanied by the Carols Super Band. A goodwill offering will take place during the event with proceeds to benefit the Christmas Bowl Appeal.

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Twilight Carols
This free family friendly open-air concert under the stars invites you to come and share in the spirit of Christmas and the excitement this time of the year has to offer.
Join in for a night of performances together with a visit from Father Christmas you have your kids even more excited for Christmas.
There will be all types of cuisine on offer, with food trucks proving big meals or a snack, and not forgetting dessert and coffee! You can bring your own picnic and drinks, and enjoy the amphitheatre main stage entertainment.

City Park Carols
Celebrate the festive season with family and friends at Civic Park Carols! Gates open at 4pm. Pre-show entertainment will be provided with the Carols main show commencing at 7:30pm. There will be plenty of food trucks, so make sure you go ready to indulge! Don’t miss the fireworks finale.

Mount Barker Carols & Fireworks
Mount Barker Carols & Fireworks is the largest Christmas Carols event in the Adelaide Hills and has now been running for over twenty years.
With family fun activities starting at 5.00pm, the Carols and Entertainment program at 7.00pm from the Business Mt Barker Stage and the Springlake Fireworks at approximately 9.15pm it promises to be a wonderful community event! Arrive early to secure a great spot to watch the show and take advantage of the range of family fun activities available.

Christmas Where the Angas Flows
Christmas Where the Angas Flows is a free, annual, community event, celebrating the end of the school term and bringing people together to share the spirit of Christmas.
The pageant starts at 6.00pm and is then followed by carols and entertainment in the Soldiers Memorial Gardens. Rides and entertainment are available to children after the pageant. There are also a number of food vans offering a selection of eating options.
A total ‘Dry Zone’ applies to the event to encourage a fun family atmosphere.
When: Friday 15 December, 2023 – 6pm – 9:30pm

Glandore isn’t on again this year unfortunately. I called them to check. Trott Park is on 15th Dec which is the only one in Marion Council area I believe.
