Brisbane might be famous for sunshine, backyard barbies and people wearing thongs in the middle of winter… but come July, the city fully leans into Christmas chaos.

And honestly? I am here for it.

We may not get snow, but we do get ugly Christmas sweaters, mulled wine, fake fireplaces, twinkling lights and enough roast dinners to put you into a festive food coma by 8pm. If you have ever wanted an excuse to celebrate Christmas twice a year, this is it.

From cosy pop-up winter feasts to full-blown Gatsby dance nights, waterfront jazz dinners, dog parties (yes, really), and over-the-top festive buffets where the seafood is chilled and the drinks are flowing… Brisbane in 2026 is absolutely not doing Christmas in July quietly.

So dust off the tinsel, prepare your best Mariah Carey impression and take a look at some of the best spots for a mid-year Christmas celebration in Brisbane.

There are seriously so many places to have a Christmas party in Brisbane… and honestly, I kind of want to go to all of them.

Scattered Arts | Glass Ornaments Workshop

Feeling crafty this Christmas in July? In this festive workshop, you will use colourful Italian glass to create your own Christmas ornaments, including a retro tree, star or wreath. An experienced tutor will guide you through cutting, scoring and handling the glass like a pro. Your creations will then be fired off-site and ready to collect the following week.

Honestly, this looks like a very wholesome way to get festive without covering your house in glitter.

  • Date: Saturday 25 July 2026
  • Time: 10am – 12:30pm
  • Location: 3/117 Edith Street Brisbane 4178

Red and White Coaches | Christmas in July Day Tour

Christmas in July

If you love the idea of a Christmas lunch but cannot be bothered cooking, cleaning or arguing over who forgot the gravy, this festive day bus tour sounds like a winner.

Jump aboard for a Christmas in July celebration at Birches Restaurant on Mt Mee, complete with a traditional Christmas lunch, plenty of laughs and probably a few enthusiastic singalongs on the bus ride home. You will also enjoy scenic views travelling back through Dayboro into Brisbane.

Honestly, a Christmas feast with someone else doing all the work? Sign me up.

  • Date: Friday 31 July 2026
  • Time: Full day tour from 7am
  • Location: 143 Connaught St, Sandgate QLD 4017
  • Price: $120 per person

Stamford Plaza Brisbane | Christmas in July Buffet

If your ideal Christmas celebration involves seafood, roast meats, dessert and somebody constantly refilling your drink, Stamford Plaza Brisbane may be calling your name.

This fancy Christmas in July long lunch includes chilled seafood, slow-roasted carvery favourites, indulgent Christmas desserts and a 3-hour beverage package. Basically, it is all the best parts of Christmas lunch… minus the sweaty December heat and family arguments over who is doing the dishes.

Honestly, this sounds like the kind of event where you roll out three hours later feeling festive, overfed and extremely pleased with your life choices.

  • Date: Saturday 11 July 2026
  • Time: 12pm – 3pm
  • Location: Corner Edward and Margaret Street, Brisbane City
  • Price: Adults $228 | Teenagers $99 | Children $59 | Under 5 free

A Very Elvis Christmas in July

A fantastic festive night as award-winning Elvis tribute artist Doug Charles brings Elvis Presley’s magic to Banyo Bowls Club for a Christmas in July celebration! Enjoy classic Elvis songs, festive favourites, Vegas-style entertainment, big-screen visuals, giveaways, and lots of Christmas cheer.

  • Date: Saturday 25th July 2026
  • Location: Banyo Bowls Club
  • Price: $35 per person

Sunnybank Community & Sports Club | Christmas in July Lunch

Why wait until December to eat roast turkey and pavlova? Honestly, I support bringing Christmas food into as many months of the year as possible. This cosy Christmas in July lunch in the Orchid Room is perfect if you want festive vibes without spending a small fortune. For just $28, you can tuck into roast turkey or ham with all the classic trimmings, followed by pavlova with berries and cream.

It honestly sounds like an easy, affordable excuse to gather the family, catch up with friends or organise a mid-year work lunch without anyone having to cook.

  • Date: Thursday 9 July & Thursday 23 July 2026
  • Time: 11am – 2pm
  • Location: 470 McCullough Street, Sunnybank
  • Price: $28 per person (member price)

Jill’s Jive Dance Studio | Gatsby Dance Night

If your idea of Christmas in July involves more dancing than dining, this one is for you.

Jill’s Jive is throwing a Gatsby-themed dance night with live music from Absolute Suave, and honestly it sounds like the kind of night where you arrive saying “I’ll just have one dance” and suddenly it’s midnight and you’re attempting a cha cha like you’ve been training for it.

Expect rock and roll, cha cha, waltzes and partner dances, with music between sets to keep things moving. Basically, it’s a full night of dancing chaos in the best possible way.

I kind of love that this is less sit-and-eat Christmas and more “sparkly outfits and questionable dance decisions”.

  • Date: Saturday 11 July 2026
  • Time: 7pm
  • Location: 264 Melton Road, Nundah
  • Tickets: On sale from 17 May

Barcella Cafe, Bar & Dining | Christmas in July Fundraiser

If you like your Christmas in July with a side of good food and doing something that actually feels nice, this one ticks all the boxes. Barcella Cafe & Restaurant in Victoria Point is hosting a festive fundraiser night with a Christmas-themed menu, family-friendly activities and all the cosy mid-year holiday vibes you’d expect.

Even better, it’s for a good cause, with $10 from every ticket going towards supporting Fun Farm and helping create joyful experiences for families. So you can eat well and feel mildly smug about it at the same time.

Honestly, this feels like the kind of event where you go “we’re just popping in” and end up staying longer than planned because the food is good and the vibe is easy.

  • Date: Friday 17 July 2026
  • Time: 6pm
  • Location: Barcella Cafe & Restaurant, Victoria Point
  • Price: Ticketed event (includes donation to charity)

The Lighthouse | Christmas in July by the Bay

If your version of Christmas in July is less “loud buffet chaos” and more “slow dinner, wine in hand, pretending you’ve got your life together”, you’ll prefer this one!

The Lighthouse is doing a relaxed winter Christmas celebration right by the water in Cleveland, and it sounds properly dreamy. Think a thoughtfully curated menu from the Head Chef, matching wines, live jazz and soft lighting doing its absolute best to make everything feel a bit more romantic than your average Friday night.

Honestly, this is the kind of event where you stop checking your phone, eat slowly, and suddenly decide you’re a person who enjoys jazz.

  • Date: Friday 24 July 2026
  • Time: From 5pm
  • Location: 237 Shore Street North, Cleveland
  • Style: Christmas in July dining experience with live jazz

PuppyPalooza | Canine Christmas in July

If you’ve ever looked at your dog and thought “you deserve a full day out more than I do”, this is that event. PuppyPalooza is a free, all-out celebration of dogs, their humans, and honestly just pure chaotic joy. Expect 40+ pet stalls, food trucks for the humans, competitions, photo ops, and a full-on “Santa Paws” fashion moment (which I absolutely support, by the way).

There’s even a chill-out zone with a wading pool, ball pit and space to recover from the emotional labour of watching your dog ignore you in public.

Honestly, this sounds like the kind of day where you go for “just an hour” and end up leaving with a coffee, a tote bag full of dog treats and at least 47 photos of your pet being mildly uncooperative.

  • Date: Sunday 12 July 2026 (event duration 4 hours)
  • Time: From 8am (competitions on stage)
  • Location: Faith Lutheran College Redlands, Thornlands
  • Price: Free entry
